Tamil class is full for the current year.
Syllabus & Levels:
We Follow American Tamil Academy Syllabus - http://www.amtaac.org/course-details/
Students are divided into "Mazhalai", Nilai1, Nila2 and Nila3 based on their proficiency levels. In addition to learning to speak and write in Tamil, the students also learn the various aspects of Tamil culture and history. We have about 75 students enrolled in the 2017-2018 school year.
Here at Bridgewater, we emphasize that kids learn to speak and write Tamil in a fun way. We have found that students enjoy the Tamil class when we incorporate fun activities like Jeopardy, Hangman and Charades in Tamil. We add music/songs as a fun way to learn, and create teams to use it as incentive in the learning process. Parents are a big part of the learning as well. They not only support their children in learning Tamil, but also help in reviewing the homework of other students, take initiatives in various activities, come up with ideas for better learning, and help direct the program for our Vidyalaya Day (our annual event where the students showcase what they have learnt).
